Hand Therapy Center of the South Bay is a therapist owned, private practice operated by Jonathan and Cynthia Riddick.  HTC was founded in 2003 and became incorporated in 2010.  Jonathan Riddick, OTR/L, CHT graduated from the University of Southern California, Cum Laude.  Jonathan has experience treating hand and upper extremity injuries since 1997. He has worked with the best hand surgeons throughout Los Angeles and has treated world class athletes including members of the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers and Angels. He has also worked with many local college and high school athletes.

Our therapists have degrees in Occupational Therapy and are certified hand therapists. We have the highest training in hand therapy with ongoing knowledge of changes in upper extremity care.

Hand Therapy Center of the South Bay’s mission is to provide the highest quality of individualized care for those who have sustained an upper extremity injury, in a nurturing, peaceful and enjoyable environment.

What is a CHT?

CHT is a credential issued by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC), a nationally recognized organization. A Certified Hand Therapist who has practiced a minimum of five years, completed a minimum of 2,000 hours of hand therapy and successfully passed a rigorous exam which is offered once a year with a pass rate of 50%. Those with this credential are in an elite group of less than 5,000 throughout the United States. Every five years recertification is required. The CHT credential provides the public with confirmation that the clinician is considered an expert in treating the hand and upper extremity.
